Chance and Sandy

Dogs in Mind paid for Chance and Sandy to be neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped.

Two of the Dogs in Mind Team, Lynn and Santa visited Romania recently to work with our good friend Loaca Aurelia of Beta’s Land. With a small amount of funds raised by the sale of our collars produced by our very talented team member Santa we were able to support two doggies at Beta’s land. We paid for them to be neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped.

He was named Chance because Beta’s land gave this doggie in a church yard with wire tied round his neck a Chance of a better life.

A frightened soul who at first we thought was blind. A difficult job to catch but Aurelia with patience soon got him into a crate & then we were off to the vets. During our stay at Beta’s land we watched Chance improve and show what a beautiful soul he is. He seems to know a few commands and loves the company of other dogs. We made a nice, cosy shelter for him.

Aurelia will keep him at Beta’s land until he finds a home.

We at DiM have all 4 paws crossed that someone will give him a kind, loving home.

She was named Sandy because she was laying in the sand & two of our team members have dogs called by this name. This doggie is a street dog who lives in a lovely village where the people feed her and she has a nice shelter to sleep. Sandy has had pups in the past and Aurelia wanted to stop this happening again. After a while Aurelia was able to catch her & after being spayed Sandy has been put back into the village to live a happy life, free to spend her days roaming in the village being fed and cared for. It was wonderful to see & today we have received a picture of Sandy back where she belongs.

Thank you to Loaca Aurelia of Beta’s Land who makes this happen. A Doggie Angel for sure X

Saluki Tiny Tim at Kama’s Cave

Kama’s Cave has taken on a homeless Saluki boy with a broken leg.

The work that Ann does at Kama’s Cave is an inspiration to our team here at DIM. We are true supporters of this wonderful breed who are often discarded after their days spent on the greyhound track , they can lead abusive lives and we are so pleased to be able to support this rescue.

Ann has taken on this Beautiful Saluki, who,  due to unforeseen circumstances has found himself homeless with a broken leg. Ann took him to the specialist vets, he is now out of surgery, all has gone according to plan – he has had a plate fitted and now he is now back at Kama’s Cave for lots of tlc.

Dogs in Mind have been able to donate £300 towards this beautiful doggie although his vet bill is already £700 , high vets bills is often the challenge at small ground force rescues. We plan to raise more funds in 2018 to support Karma’s Cave with their work supporting The Greyhounds in their care.

We were also able to provide £100 of food as a Christmas present for the dogs.

Thank you to Ann (and her Team), who supports and saves these doggies – an unsung hero !

Carrick, Petra and Bilbo.

Behaviour support at Animal Helpline

Here at Dogs in Mind we love to support the dogs that arrive at Animal Helpline Dog Rescue gates frightened of the outside world. Animal Helpline give their lodgers the love, care and a warm place to lay their head, although these Doggie Angels are often run ragged with the many daily duties required to keep the Rescue going.

In the past we have helped many frightened dogs and this year we focused on 3 doggies named Carrick, Petra and Bilbo, who all needed some support to fight their demons. You will find information on our work under the Animal Helpline section .

*** Petra, Bilbo and Carrick have been rehomed ****

Have a look at a little video of Carrick, Petra and Bilbo.  It has been an incredible journey for these dogs. They arrived at the rescue very frightened of outside world and sadly, from a human hand too. We have been working hard for the past several months to help these dogs and have a chance to find a forever home.  Once again, we realise that our team may not change the world of homeless dogs but just maybe we will make a small difference to a few dogs like Carrick, Petra and little boy Bilbo.

Please see below videos of  beautiful Petra and handsome Bilbo.

A BIG THANK YOU to Animal Helpline for not only saving these beautiful souls but allowing us the privilege to work with them and be part of their journey.
